yoga is a self reliant healing system

There are a wide variety of classes available to suit your lifestyle needs. Please reach out to book your private individual or group session.

Vinyasa Yoga: enjoy a gentle slow flow class with a focus on sun salutations, a strong foundation and healthy alignment. This class is a perfect way to stretch and strengthen the body, while quieting the mind. Available for first time beginner, as well as experienced yogis.

Restorative Yoga: this class consists of supported postures (using blankets, bolsters & blocks) with a focus on myofascial release of the connective tissue to create mobility in the shoulders, upper spine and hips; while promoting overall realignment and relaxation to soothe the nervous system.

Pranayama: breath work is the perfect way to strengthen your nervous system, while quieting the mind. There are many different types of pranayama to practice depending on your needs. It is a wonderful way to build your lungs for free diving. *Always prepared for with a few supported restorative yoga poses.

Meditation: the purpose of yoga asana (postures) is so that we are able to sit with ease and stillness in meditation. Pranayama is a wonderful tool to focus and quiet the mind, which allows us to meditate. The results of meditation allow us to detach from the busyness of the world, as well as feel our oneness with all the is. It is highly recommend and with the right tools, you'll find it easier than you expected.

Yoga for Freedivers: this class combines elements of all techniques to create mobility in the body where it really counts for freediving. This is a perfect stretch routine to practice before linediving because it is a mindful series of postures to make you feel more at ease underwater. This class uses a set of 2 yoga blocks.

Inferno Hot Pilates: this is a low impact, high intensity interval training class based in Pilates principles. It's method targets a well rounded full body workout & is typically taught in a heated room, but the heat is not required for a great workout. This is excellent cross training for any lifestyle, but especially freediving.

Experience

Yoga is an education system that, once obtained, holds a responsibility to pass on. Since 2013, Heidi has taught regular classes, both public and private in Kona, Hawaii. Every spring & fall Freediving Instructors International hosts a week long "Kona Camp" offering participants a chance to take Restorative Yoga, Pranayama & Yoga for Freedivers with Heidi. She also travels annually to teach yoga for the guests at Namotu Island Resort in Fiji. Her active lifestyle as a surfer, paddler & freediver allow her to cater well to these specific needs.

Heidi has studied a very traditional lineage of yoga from the teachings of BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar, Patabi Jois, Manouso Mano & HS Arun as passed on by Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini and Kristen Bosteels in Huelo, Maui. Her yoga teacher trainings include 200 hrs in 2013, 200 hrs in 2017 & 200 hrs in 2020.

Heidi trained with Inferno Hot Pilates founder Gabriella Walters in 2020.

Available for private individual or group classes, both in person or via Zoom.
